Access to food is a continual and growing concern for developing countries. Simplifying border processes and establishing resilient supply chains both play a vital role in ensuring that perishable goods make it to market and that affected regions can maintain food supply, Alliance initiatives that support the digitalisation of processes help to reduce the time and cost of trade and can also mitigate deterioration and spoilage.

As part of its mission to uncover and solve today's barriers to simple, easy, and cost-effective trade, the Alliance, funded by the United States, Canada, and Germany, is implementing trade facilitation projects to solve supply chain challenges in developing countries.
